A plain-English explanation of what we collect when you ask for help, why, and who we share it with.
Buffalo Water Damage Help connects homeowners with local water damage restoration professionals. This note explains how we handle the information you give us — kept short and plain.
What we collect
When you submit the request form, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, optional email address, the property ZIP or address, the type of problem you select, and the description you provide. We don't ask for anything more than we need to connect you with a pro.
Why we collect it
We use this information for one purpose: to connect you with a local water damage restoration professional who will contact you about your request. Your phone number and property location are what let the pro reach you and understand where the problem is.
Who we share it with
We share your request with independent local restoration professionals so they can contact you, and with referral partners who help route requests to an appropriate pro. We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties.
Analytics
This site uses its own cookieless analytics to measure how the site is working — how many people visit, which pages they read, how far down they scroll, and whether they start or finish the request form. There are no third-party analytics or advertising scripts anywhere on this site, so your visit isn't shared with an analytics or ad-tech company.
To connect those measurements within a single visit, your browser generates a random identifier and keeps it in session storage. It isn't a cookie, it contains nothing about you, it's never sent to anyone else, and it's discarded when you close the tab — so it can't be used to recognise you on a later visit or on any other website.
If you arrived by clicking an advertisement, the link may carry campaign tags (and a click identifier from the ad platform). We record those so we can tell which advertising actually helps people find us. They describe the ad you clicked, not you.
We don't record mouse movement, keystrokes, or screen recordings, and we don't build an advertising profile of you.
How long we keep it
We retain request details only as long as needed to route your request, support any follow-up, and keep basic records. When the information is no longer needed for those purposes, we remove it.
Asking about your data
If you'd like to know what we hold about you, or want us to remove your request details, get in touch through our contact form and tell us what you need. A note on scope: once a restoration pro has contacted you, any relationship, records, or communications between you and that pro are handled under their own privacy practices, not ours.
